Game Freak & Private Division’s New Action Title

Game developer Game Freak, best known for the Pokémon franchise, is working on a new action-adventure IP called Project Bloom.

The company has partnered with Take-Two Interactive’s publishing label, Private Division, which has released several popular titles such as Outer Worlds and Kerbal Space Program.

Game Freak’s previous games include Little Town Hero and HarmoKnight, but Pokémon Legends: Arceus showcased the company’s ability to handle open worlds and action-heavy gameplay. Project Bloom is described as a “bold and tonally different” IP from the company’s previous work.

Details about the game are scarce, with only some concept art and a short video announcing the partnership released so far. The game isn’t yet to come out until Take-Two’s 2026 financial year, which runs from April 1, 2025, to March 31, 2026.

Despite Game Freak’s long-standing partnership with Nintendo on the Pokémon franchise, it is Take-Two Interactive that will be publishing Project Bloom.

As an independent developer, Game Freak is free to work with other publishers. No gaming console has been confirmed for the game’s release, and the home console landscape may look different by the time of its release in three years.
